Here we’ll give you all the information you need to buy something to survive on campus

There are many supermarkets or grocery stores on the Saclay plateau and in the surrounding area. There is something for everyone, from the big shopping mall in Les Ulis to the small organic grocery store in Gif-sur-Yvette, you are bound to find what you are looking for!

We have selected a few stores for you to see more clearly.

Carrefour Les Ulis 2 – les Ulis

Just 5 minutes from campus, this is the largest shopping center in the area. There is a large Carrefour store with everything you need for your weekly shopping. Whether it is fruits and vegetables, or various utensils for the house, you will find everything there. The store also has a fishmonger, a butcher and a bakery. It is located in a shopping center, so you will have access to many other stores. The store is open every day from 8am to 9:30pm except on Sundays when it closes at 1pm.

Intermarché – Gif-sur-Yvette 

A little further east of the plateau, in the beautiful town of Gif-sur-Yvette, there is a large Intermarché. You can find there everything you need for the week. Moreover the store has a small shopping mall where you can find some interesting stores. The store is opened every day from 8:30 am till 8 pm and except Sunday when it opens from 9 am till 12:45 am. It has a large free parking there too, so no worries about parking except on market days when it can be full.

Franprix – Ecole Polytechnique district

In the heart of the Ecole Polytechnique district, near many schools of the University Paris-Saclay, there is a small Franprix, acting as a local shop. You can find there all the necessities, but the prices are a bit higher. Next to it, there are other small shops, a branch of the general society as well as restaurants and health services.

The store is open every day from 8am to 7:45pm.

La miam locale

Located on campus, in the Moulon district, this recently opened store offers many local products. We recommend you to visit their website which is very well done, you will be able to reserve and pay for your items online and pick them up in store.

The store is open from Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 7:30pm.

La Menthe Poivrée – Gif-sur-Yvette 

If you like organic and local products, you will be delighted. In this small grocery store, you will find fruits, vegetables, groceries, bulk products… The products come from local producers. The store located in the heart of Gif-sur-Yvette has opened 3 other branches in the surroundings. The grocery store is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 7:30pm and closes at 1pm on Sundays. We advise you to visit their website to better understand their approach.

La Fourmi Verte – Bures-sur-Yvette et Orsay

With two stores, in Bures and Orsay, this grocery store will delight again the amateurs of organic and local products. Two very nice little stores where you will find your happiness in terms of fresh fruits and vegetables. The stores are open every day from 9am to 8pm and on Sundays they close at 1pm.

Villebon 2  – Villebon

Located about 20 minutes away by car, Villebon 2 is also a shopping mall with many brands: Kiabi, H&M, La Halle, Promod… Organized in small separate outdoor stores, this shopping center remains original and offers a wide choice of various stores.

Downtown stores- Orsay

To give a little visibility to smaller structures, we can mention the many independent signs present in particular in the center of Orsay. We can quote for example CLOE, Rêves d’ailleurs, Sur un fil…

Westfield Vélizy 2 – Vélizy

Located less than 15 minutes by car from the University of Paris-Saclay, this large shopping center gathers most of the clothing and fashion brands. You can find Jennyfer, ZARA, H&M, Jules, Célio, Printemps… and of course you can enjoy many restaurants, a cinema, a Fnac…
